De dorpskern van Castelreng ligt op 1 km en Limoux op 8 km afstand. In Limoux vindt u een aantal grote supermarkten, bakkers, kleine winkels en restaurants. Er is een gezellig dorpsplein met café's en terrasjes. Op vrijdagmorgen is de markt in Limoux. In de maanden januari, februari en maart zijn elk weekend carnavals-optochten. Er zijn een aantal unieke musea in Limoux waaronder het automaten-museum en het piano-museum.
Le centre du village de Castelreng se trouve à 1 km, et la ville de Limoux à 8 km. A Limoux vous trouverez divers supermarchés, des boulangeries, des petits magasins et des restaurants. Une place sympathique propose des cafés et plusieurs terrasses. Le marché de Limoux a lieu le vendredi matin. En janvier, février et mars les défilés de carnavals ont lieu tous les week-ends. Limoux propose également quelques musées uniques : le musée des Automates et le musée du Piano.
The village center of Castelreng is located 1 km away. The village of Limoux is located 8 km away. There you can find a large number of supermarkets, bakeries, small shops and restaurants. The village has a nice cosy square with bars and terraces. Every Friday morning there is a market in and each weekend of January, February and March, there are carnival parades. Limoux has a few unique museums, like the piano museum and the ‘Musée des Automates’.

Richting Alet-les-Bains (20 min.) kunt u kanoboten huren en wildwatervaren op de Aude. Even voorbij Chalabre (30 min.) is het Lac de Montbel, een meer waarin gezwommen en gevaren kan worden en waar u waterfietsen kunt huren. Er zijn vele wandelmogelijkheden in de omgeving. Verdere activiteiten in de omgeving: Accro Parc (klimmen in bomen), grotten, wandelen in de kloof, gemarkeerde wandelingen in bossen, op heuvels en in de Pyreneeën. Verder is onder meer VTT (mountainbike) mogelijk en parapente (zijlvliegen). In iets meer dan een uur rijden bent u aan de Middenlandse zee.
A 20 minutes, direction Alet-les-Bains, vous trouverez des activités telles que le canoë ou le rafting sur l'Aude. Juste après Chalabre (30 minutes) vous trouvez le Lac Montbel, lieu incontournable pour la baignade et les loisirs nautiques, vous pouvez louer entre autre des pédalos. Pour les randonneurs il y a une multitude de sentiers. En un peu plus d'une heure vous êtes vers la Méditerranée.
A 20 minutes drive takes you to Alet-les-Bains where you can rent canoos and raft on the river Aude. Just past Chalabre (30 minutes) is the Lac de Montbel, a lake where you can swim, sail, and rent water bikes. The environment offers a wide range of possibilities for hiking. There are signposted hikes in the forests, in the hills, and in the Pyrenees. Other activities include: climbing in trees in the Acro Parc, visiting caves, hiking in the rifts, mountain biking and paragliding. The Mediterranean is just over an hour’s drive away.

In de omgeving zijn vele Cataren-ruïnes te bezichtigen, onder meer in Puivert (40 min.) en Chalabre (30 min.). Iets verder liggen de châteaux van Lastours, Saissac, Puilaurens, Aguilar, en vele anderen (meer informatie op: www.payscathare.org). In Saint Hilaire en Saint Polycarpe zijn historische kloosters te bezichtigen. De historische stad Carcassonne bevindt zich op ongeveer 40 min. afstand. Locale wijn proeven kan op de vele wijn-chateau’s in de omgeving.
Les sites historiques et les Châteaux des Cathares sont à visiter à Puivert (40 min), Chalabre et Carcassonne. Les Châteaux de Las tours, Saissac, Puilaurens, Aguilar, termes, Arques, Peyrepertuse, Queribus se trouvent également dans les environs. La région propose de nombreuses caves de dégustation pour goûter les vins régionaux.

A little further away are the castles of Lastours, Saissac, Puilaurens, Montsegur and many others (see www.payscathare.org). In Saint Hilaire and Saint Polycarpe you can visit historical cloisters. The historic centre of Carcassonne is at a 40 minutes drive. The area has many wine castles where you can taste excellent local wines.
